Elizabeth M. Cheever, age 99, of Tecumseh, passed away February 29, 2016 at Cambrian Assisted Living. Elizabeth was born May 27, 1916 in Rockwood, MI, the daughter of George and Mary (Scholler) Issen.  On December 1, 1945, she married Ronald C. Cheever in Britton.  He preceded her in death on March 30, 1972. Elizabeth resided in the Britton area most of her life. She graduated from Britton High School in 1934.  Elizabeth continued her education at Lenawee County Normal School for one year where she received her teaching certificate.  She then taught in rural schools for several years until her marriage. Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Siena Heights University in 1971.She was a schoolteacher for 26 years and retired from Britton-Macon School in 1981.  She was  member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Britton, the Herrick Memorial Health Care Center Auxiliary and the Ridgeway Cemetery Board.  She was Treasurer of the Village of Britton from 1957 to 1967 and a member of the Britton School Board of Education from 1960 to 1968. Elizabeth is survived by 3 daughters: Priscilla Cheever of Ann Arbor, Kathleen and her husband Dennis Marshall of Alma and Ronda Cheever and her husband Dale Maddox of Tecumseh;2 grandchildren, Jessica Carle and her husband Chris and Stephen Marshall; great grandson, Luke Carle and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Boxwell and brother, George Issen.
