Elizabeth Carrier, 86, of Ottawa, died Thursday evening, November 25, at Pleasant View in Ottawa. Mrs. Carrier was born on August 1, 1924 in Crystal City, Missouri to Raymond and Elizabeth (Boyer) Fast.
She worked as the manager of Carson’s Around the Bend Restaurant in Ottawa, for many years. She married Harold Bud Carrier on August 9, 1947, in Ottawa. He died on October 2, 2001. Betty was a member of Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, a member and Past-President of the Ottawa VFW Auxiliary, and was active with the parents of the Drum and Bugle Corps. in LaSalle County.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Richard) Alsvig, of Ottawa, and Patricia (Marlin) Low, of Utica, one son, Steven, of Mesa, Arizona, 9 grandchildren, Laurie Killelea, Robert Alsvig, Brent Alsvig, Kristin Alsvig, Prudence Halm, Steven Carrier, Nathan Carrier, Anna Low and Kirsten Low, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Darlene Walker, and Norma McNamara, both of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter in infancy, Elizabeth, one grandson, Rick Alsvig, two sisters, Bonnie Westphal and Catherine Sibert, one brother, Raymond Fast.
