Elizabeth C. Shortell, 86, of Matawan, passed away, Friday, July 10, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, she resided in Staten Island, before moving to Matawan 14 years ago.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, John Shortell in 1997; a son, Michael in 2005; an infant daughter, Kathleen; and by a brother and sister. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Avicolli of Jackson; John Shortell of Matawan; Thomas Shortell of Cold Spring, NY; and Mary Ellen Grosso of Warwick, NY; a sister, Anne Griffiths of New Hampshire; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
