Elizabeth “Betty Lou” Bollinger Green, beloved wife, mother, and Nana, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Concord NC, on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was an incredibly giving and creative soul who adored her family, doing puzzles, and caring for her precious cat, Mia.
Elizabeth was born November 6, 1940, in Corning, NY. She was the daughter of Henry and Ethel Bollinger. Betty Lou, as everyone called her, grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, and graduated Poughkeepsie High School in 1958. She attended Green Mountain College in Vermont and graduated with a degree in Art and Interior Design. Elizabeth’s talent and artistry were evident throughout her life and in all she did, including her beautifully decorated home, gifted piano playing, stylish outfits, and elegant drawings of her grandchildren.
After graduating, Elizabeth moved back to Poughkeepsie and was employed by IBM, where she met the love of her life, Thomas M. Green, whom she married on July 15th, 1967 at Holy Trinity Church, in Poughkeepsie, NY. Thomas, or Tom, as everyone knew him, preceded her in death on August 9, 2011.
Her whole family relocated to Concord in 1992, and continue to reside in North Carolina.
Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Lauren Antanaitis and her twin daughters Jackie Keel and Janine Bryant, and her sons-in-law Ben Antanaitis, Jamie Keel, and Mike Bryant. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Green, Melyssa Guerin, her fiancé Isaac Bradley, Madison Bryant, Benji Antanaitis and her two step-granddaughters, Caitlen Keel Smith and Cassidy Keel Thompson. Betty Lou loved her grandchildren dearly and they were her biggest pride and joy.
She is also survived by her sister Diana Cleland; sister-in-law, Grace Roma; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored. Her brothers, Robb Bollinger and Alan Drake, preceded her in death.
The family would like to acknowledge the Roma family, husband Tom’s sister’s family, the Henebery family, especially Rosalie Henebery, a devoted life-long friend, and Mabel Payne, a cherished neighbor to Elizabeth in her later years. We thank them all for being a blessing to her and her daughters. The family is eternally grateful for their love, devotion, and care.
Her daughters are filled with great peace and comfort knowing their Mom and Dad are together once again, celebrating their heavenly reunion in the loving arms of the Lord.
