Elizabeth “Betty” L. Bock (nee Gaskey) age 91, of Hammond (Hessville), Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, surrounded by cherished family.
Survivors include her loving children: Carol (Tom) Guzman of Naperville, IL, William (Chris) Bock Jr. of Schererville, IN, Dennis (Gloria) Bock of Whiting, IN, Nancy (Tim) Langbeen of Portage, IN, and Cathie (Donny) Blair of Plainfield, IL; cherished grandchildren: Kristie (Eric) Blankenship, Lisa (Joel) Lanting, Jennifer (Donnie) Hoernig, Natalie Guzman, Amy Bock, William (Ila) Bock, Angela (Rob) Douthitt, Tanya “Muffin” Guzman, Kaylean (Jon) Luse, Emma Blair, and William Blair; sisters: Rita Stearns of Valparaiso, IN, Joanie (late, Richard) Cole of Lowell, IN, Barb Seitz of Griffith, Debbie (late, Michael) Hale of Gold Canyon, AZ; and several great-grandkids, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years William “Bubby” Bock, who passed away on June 23, 2001; grandson William P. Bock; great-grandsons Wyatt and Waylon Luse; brother William “Buddy” Gaskey; sister Audrey (late, John) Jaceczko.
Elizabeth was born March 10, 1930 at home in East Chicago, IN. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, All Saints in Hammond, St. Catherine of Siena Church in Hammond, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Hammond, where she was involved in the prayer group. Betty loved everyone she met. She always loved to write letters, make pillows, and send boxes of the handmade pillows to St. Jude’s Hospital for cancer patients. Betty was kind, appreciative, patient, genuine, and very soft spoken.
