Elizabeth “Betty” (Beaulieu) Deshaies, 96, of New Britain, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gerard Deshaies. Born in Newmarket, NH, she lived in New Britain over 70 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Church, New Britain. Betty worked at E.C. Goodwin Tech for 17 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the French Society of St. Ann and the New Britain Council of Catholic Women. Betty loved gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and enjoyed the beauty of her yard while sitting in her lawn swing. Survivors include her son Joseph Richard Deshaies of New Britain, two daughters and sons-in-law: Regina and Robert Berube of Plainville, Janet and Thomas Bertelsen of Marlborough, seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her five brothers and one sister.
