Elizabeth “Betty” McGovern Burns, 95, of Holiday City at Berkeley, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born in Orange, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Orange before moving to Holiday City in 1985. Betty worked in Quality Control at Carol Dunham Smith Pharmaceuticals, Orange, then at Ivers-Lee Company in Newark. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her brother Francis “Frank” (World War II), her beloved sisters Mary and Helen, and nephew Robert.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Joseph and Jody, grandson Kevin (Joanne), nieces Janet, Suefrancis, Noreen (Robert), Joan (Michael), nephew James (Garry), special grandniece Kelly, and many grandnieces/nephews. She is also survived by many special people in her life, among them Bob and Joanne, Rose, Ted, and CC who were always there when she needed them. The family is especially thankful for the loving care she received from her care giver Esther.
