Elizabeth (Baker) Cunningham, 84 of Newington died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. She was the much beloved wife of Thomas J. Cunningham for 62 years. Born in Hartford, she grew up in West Hartford and was a Newington resident for the last 60 years. Mrs. Cunningham graduated from Hall High School and Hillyer College. She worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Newington for over 20 years. Elizabeth was a proud member of the VA Retired Secretaries Lunch Club and the Hillyer Girls. A most loving and truly devoted mother and grandmother, she also leaves her son Donald W. Cunningham of Rockville, MD, two daughters Nancy Guyette and her husband Gary of Newington, Tammy J. Ohanesian of Newington, six grandchildren Craig and Eric Guyette, Travis and Mallory Houldcroft, Ryan Ohanesian and Natalie Cunningham, her sister Mrs. Jean Twitchell of Falmouth, Maine and her son-in-law David Houldcroft. She was pre-deceased by and with God’s grace is now joined with her daughter Janet E. Houldcroft. Her love for life and her family knew no bounds and her constant upbeat and fun-hearted attitude will be missed by all who knew her. She was a true-blue fan of UCONN Women’s Basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and SNOW.
