Elizabeth “Betty” Burns
W. Hartford – Elizabeth “Betty” (Brown) Burns of Tunxis Rd. died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in St. Mary Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of James R. Burns for 49 years. Born in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late George and Abbietta (Hasler) Brown.
Mrs. Burns worked as a fifth grade teacher for 44 years for the West Hartford School System. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Connecticut Education Association, and the West Hartford Teachers Association. She enjoyed traveling and being a “Mom” to her five West Highland White Terriers.
In addition to her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Beverly Brown of Norwich.
