Williamsport, MD – Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Long, 86, a resident of Homewood at Williamsport passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Roxbury, MD on November 20, 1933 to the late Leroy White and Anna Elizabeth Burger Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard “Jim” Long on June 27, 2009. They were married January 3, 1952.
She was a 1951 graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD.
She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship in Cearfoss, MD. She was very active with various committees within the church.
She was involved in the “Cheerios Group” at Homewood Retirement Center and bowled on the Senior Citizens League in Hagerstown, MD.
Liz is survived by her son Steven K. Long and his wife Linda of New Oxford, PA; son David L. Long and his wife Chrisie of Hagerstown, MD; brother P. Phillip Elgin of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren Tommy Mellinger and Stephanie, Amber Mellinger and her husband Chuck Benjamin, Josh Long and Marissa, Ben Long and wife Rose, Steph Long-Murphy and her husband Kyle, Jason Long and Kacy, T.J. Socks and his wife Lauren, and Jessica Long; several great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers Leroy W. Elgin, Jr., John W. “Jack” Elgin, and James “Jimmy” Elgin; and a grandson Matt Mellinger.
