Elizabeth Alice Copper of Centreville, MD passed away at Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville on Thursday, December 31, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was 76 years old.
Mrs. Copper was born on February 26, 1939, daughter of the late Thomas Griffin and Elizabeth H. Hite. She was very active within her church and the love of Jesus Christ. Mrs. Copper enjoyed singing in the choir for many years until her health started to fail. She had many hymns she would sing. Some of the hymns are, “Glory, Glory Hallelujah”, “I’m a Pilgrim” and “What Have You Done For The Lord Today” to name a few.
Mrs. Elizabeth Copper loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very domestically inclined. She would spend time with family and friends as often as she could. She loved teaching and was a great educator. She received her education in the public schools of Queen Anne’s County and graduated with honors in the field of education. Mrs. Copper worked for The Gayles and Mrs. Booze for many, many years as well as Mrs. Joan Highlinder.
Mrs. Copper leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, daughter(s); Teresa E. (Charles) Mundell of Baltimore, MD.;
Marina E (Emmanuel) James of Centreville, MD; son- Robert S. Jr (Kimberly) Copper of Clayton, DE; son –Thomas F. (Aleta) Copper of Ridgley, MD: and daughter Patricia A. Finney of Denton, MD;
14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Copper was preceded in death by her late beloved husband Robert S. Copper, Sr. and beloved daughter Debra Regina Copper Freeman.
