Elizabeth Ann “Betty” (Barry) Catlow, age 97, passed away on August 16, 2015. She was born in Norwich on June 30, 1918 to William and Mary (Burke) Barry.
She graduated from NFA IN 1936 and attended the Morse Business College in Hartford.
She worked at Reid & Hughes (The Boston Store) in downtown Norwich, Frank O’connell screen printing, and retired from the Thermos Company.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph “Laddie” Catlow Sr., whom she married on September 21, 1940, and by sisters Mary (Barry) Maine, Margaret (Barry) Hanlon, Helen (Barry) Ethier and infant Elizabeth Barry and brothers James Barry, William Barry and infant William Barry.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph “Jay” Catlow Jr. (Deborah) of Maumee Ohio and William “Bill” Catlow (Cynthia) of Daphne, Alabama; her grandchildren Jan Catlow-Chido of Silver Spring, Md, Michael “Micky” Catlow of Henderson, NC and great grandchildren Devota Aabel of Silver Spring, Md, and Briannon Lusiak of Maumee, Ohio, her nieces Mary (Maine) Tauro of Norwich; Kathleen Piquette (Barry) of Newington, Ct; Donna Barry of Aurora, Co.; Margaret Hopkins (Hanlon) of Westminster, Co.; and nephews Jesse Maine of Norwichtown; Russ Maine of Norwich; and James Hanlon of Norwich.
Betty enjoyed bowling, golf, singing with the Laurelaires, and travelling. Betty spent the last years enjoying her life at St. Judes in Norwichtown playing trivia, bingo, and cards.
