Eliza Jane Rothbauer, 87, of Mary Esther, Florida, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in Sutersville, Pennsylvania, on Apr. 5, 1919.
With her husband, Tony, and children, Ron and Jan, she moved to Lake Wales, Fla., in October, 1955. She retired in 1982, after being a waitress at McCory’s for 27 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She lived in Lake Wales until 1996 and was an avid Florida Gator football fan. She enjoyed watching football and especially watching her husband play semi-pro football in Clairton, Pa. Due to her health, she moved to Mary Esther in May, 1996, to be closer to her children.
She is survived by her son, Ronald G. Rothbauer; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Rothbauer; daughter, Janice Flater; son-in-law, Philip Flater; grandchildren, Rebecca Rothbauer, Kristin Loper and her husband, Bryon, Philip Flater, Jr., and his wife, Jill, Candi Flater, Erin Flater, Lee Williamson and her husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Jacob Williamson and Shawn Williamson; her brother, Elmer Laughlin and his wife, Dolores, of Jefferson Hills, Pa.
We are grateful to the staff of Westwood Healthcare Center for the excellent and compassionate care shown to our mother for the past two years.
