ELINOR ANN (SHEELY) ESSER
July 18, 1918 – September 14, 2010
“Ellie” was born at home in Farmington, Connecticut to the late Graham and Agnes
(Ingvartsen) Sheely She graduated from Farmington High School in 1936 and attended business school before going to work for Pratt and Whitney.
She settled in Miami and became well known for her expertise in sales and marketing. As the first female vice president-sales/marketing of Eastern/Admiral Cruise Line, Ellie became the voice of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale cruise industry. After retiring in 1983, she became a most-loved reading volunteer with her local elementary school and packed non-school hours with anything to do with her grandson and family.

In 1996, Ms. Esser moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, was soon joined by her grandchildren Matt and Jane and became “Greatmom” to their children. In May, following an extended stay in a rehab facility, she returned home with Cyndi and Bruce, where she was loved and cared for until her return to the Lord.

The oldest of 4 children, Ellie was preceded in death by her brother Leroy (Bud) Sheely and is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Esser Weil and husband Bruce;
grandson, Matt ( Jane ) Taillon a the joys of her life, all in Charlotte, and great grandchildren Matthew, Jr., Savannah Jane and Michael Alexander, the joys of her life
Also surviving are her siblings Betty Saxton and Bob ( Grace ) Sheely, both in Florida with nieces and nephews living in Florida and New England.
