Elena M. DeFelice (nee Ofena) On February 6, 2019 of Glassboro. Age 92. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Devoted mother of William (Doriana), James, Gregory (Margaret) and Deneen DeFelice. Loving grandmother of Daniel, Christopher, Fausto and Nicolas. Dear sister of her only surviving sibling Guido Ofeno, and the late Rocco, Antoinette and Josephine. Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Early in her life, Lee, as she was known by family and friends, worked as a secretary in an appliance retail firm and as a telephone operator. Then, after conscientiously and lovingly raising her four children, she returned to the workforce as a sales clerk in Jamesway Department Store in Glassboro. Finally, working at Glassboro High School as head cashier in the cafeteria, she earned the respect and love of co-workers, staff and students.
Upon retirement and the death of her husband, Lee devoted herself to housekeeping, gardening, reading, her pets and her favorite team to hate, the Phillies.
Above all, she’s remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a person whose warm personality was appreciated by even casual visitors and acquaintances for her openness and hospitality. She will be missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday, 9:00-10:30 am at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, 500 Greentree Rd., Glassboro.
