Elena Francine Robertson, 69, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 in Boise with her family by her side.
Elena was born to Edith and Norman Barbour in Alhambra, California on June 17, 1941. She attended La Puente High School in La Puente, California where she was active in choir, drama, and cheerleading. She was married shortly after graduation in 1959 and then dedicated her life to raising her five children. She was a caring and loving mother.
Later in life, she worked for the Blackfoot School District in a variety of positions. Eventually, she focused her career on work with special needs children, which she found a rewarding and worthwhile pursuit.
Her last years were spent with family in the Boise area and in Oregon where she was able to spend time at the ocean, a lifelong love.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Kelly (Sonya) Robertson of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Kimberly (Ken) Dodge of Idaho Falls; son, Joshua (Tyauna) Robertson of Nampa; daughter, Amanda (Zachary) Wesley of Kuna; and daughter, April Rae of Riverside, California; siblings, Richard (Sandy) Barbour of Victorville, California and Debbie Barbour of Grants Pass, Oregon; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
