Lang, Eleanore Louise
(née Spies)
Born on May 15, 1929, she passed away December 1, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The youngest of a family of 10 children born to Jacob Spies and Katharine Mueller. Childless herself, Auntie Ah was the beloved aunt to her more than 2 dozen nieces and nephews. A longtime member of the Minnesota Schuhplattler and later, Schuhplattler Gruppe Edelweiss, Eleanore was the last of the Drei Omi of the Mittelwest Bezirk of the Gauverband Nordamerika. She married Clarence Lang in September, 1956, and was widowed in 1984. She and Uncle Clarey were active members of the Twin Cities Racing Pigeon Club. Eleanore was employed by Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) her entire working career. She will be missed by all of us who considered her our second Mom.
