Mrs. Eleanor V. Nelson, age 79, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Bert Nelson, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009 in her home. Daughter of the late Michael and Sarah McNally Stanton, she was born on January 11, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a real estate broker and owner of Nelson Associates of Ansonia with her husband. Eleanor was involved in the Michelob Golf Tournament and Cardinal Sheehan Golf Tournament that raised funds for the Cardinal Sheehan Center. She was also an active member at Mill River Country Club. Survivors include her four children, Brian Nelson and his wife Marilyn of North Haven, Bobbie Seelin and her husband Andy of Stony Brook, L.I., NY, Bert Nelson and his fiancée Elaine Hanna of Derby, and Beth Coscia and her husband Tony of Orange and nine grandchildren, Brian, Robert, Jennifer, Sara, Eric, Sheenagh, Anthony, Amanda, and Andrew. She also leaves a sister, Barbara Garbarini of Bloomingburg, NY and a sister-in-law, Viola Imhof of East Meadow, L.I., NY.
