Eleanor M. Williams, Died March 15, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born on September 21, 1930, to Rev A. LaVerne and Margie (Kyser) Spafford in Grand Rapids, MI. Eleanor was a beacon of compassion and love for all who had the good fortune to cross her path. Her generosity was as boundless as her love for her family, her friends, and her Savior, Jesus.She attended St. Johns schools where she graduated class of 48. After high school she married the love of her life Howard Williams on April 16, 1950. They went on to raise 9 beautiful children together.Eleanor, a devoted wife of 74 years to her beloved Howard, was a cornerstone of her family and her community in Saint Johns, Michigan. Her love for her family was evident in her dedication to her role as a homemaker, creating a warm, loving environment for her family. Eleanor had a love for cooking and baking, and her cinnamon rolls and apple pie were renowned. She was also a talented musician who played the organ at the Pilgrim Church for over 50 years and taught music at school, passing on her passion for music to future generations. Eleanors dedication to her faith was unwavering. She supported Howard with the youth group, undertook missions to Haiti, and was a prayer warrior. It was upon the rock of her faith that she and Howard built their family.Eleanors legacy is a testament to her loving and generous spirit. She is survived by her husband, Howard; children, Wade (Leslie) Williams, Diane (Chris) Cornell, Kathleen (Bill) McElroy, Mark (Pam) Williams, Shirley (Al) Rennells, Ruthann (Jim) Dunigan, Richard (Suzy) Williams, and Paul Williams; her 32 Grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Malcom and sister-in-law, Maudy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev A. LaVerne and Margie Spafford; son, Leonard and June Williams; grandson, Alex; great grandson Ezekiel; siblings Art Spafford and Mary Lou Burch; her in-laws Myron Williams and Margaret Williams.
