Eleanor Jean Stead, 77, of Haymond Rd, Grafton, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Home Away From Home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 7, 1936, in Clemtown, WV, a daughter of the late Lonzo and Opal Delpha Weaver Marsh. She married, Wilfred Lowell Stead on October 5, 1958 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1990. Mrs. Stead was a 1954 graduate of Philippi High School. She worked at Davies IGA and Warehouse Grocery until it closed. She worked at the Mother’s Day Shrine as a tour guide until last year. Jean loved traveling, gardening and doing yard work. She attended Blueville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Michelle Kyker and husband Don, Bridgeport; son, Kevin Michael Stead and wife Shelly, Grafton; four grandchildren, Seth A Weaver, Kristen N Weaver, Caroline G Stead and Dylan M Stead; step grandchild, Phillip Kyker, one sister, Eileen Phillips, Grafton; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy McVicker and one brother, Dallas Marsh.
