She was born on August 15, 1919 in Carroll County, Maryland to the late Hobart and Susan Beistel. Mrs. Porter worked as the Chief Lab Tech at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for 32 years, retiring in 1980. She attended the Bible Church of Lake Shore. Mrs. Porter was a member of the Stoney Creek Democratic Club, the Glen Burnie Women of the Moose and the Pascal and Lake Shore Senior Centers.
