Eleanor Dorothy (Ahern) Driscoll

Eleanor was born in 1923,  in Cambridge MA, the 4th child of Daniel and Catherine (Keane) Ahern. Eleanor’s mother passed away when Ellie was only three, and her sisters Catherine McCormick and Mary Ahern Lewis, along with her brother Daniel “Bud” Ahern, all helped to raise her. When Ellie was six, her father remarried, and in addition to a new mother, Catherine Healey, she gained 6 more brothers.
In 1947 Eleanor married Dr. Cornelius J. Driscoll of Revere. She and Neil moved to Danvers,  where she helped him set up his general practice. Ellie and Neil were happily married for 39 years,  and together raised a family of 6 children.

Later in life, Eleanor pursued another dream, that of being an artist. Eleanor studied with many prominent local painters. She felt especially blessed to be included in the “Tuesday Ladies”, an elite group of students of the accomplished artist,  Helen VanWyke. Here among her peers, and friends, she perfected her talent.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Judith Johnson, and husband Stephen of Upton. Her son Michael Driscoll and wife Laura of Amesbury. Her daughter Mary Driscoll of Stratham NH. Her daughter Patrice Driscoll and husband John Hamilton of Beverly. Her son Dr. Daniel Driscoll and wife Tracey of Boxborough. Her daughter Denise Ryan and husband Timothy of Merrimac.
In addition, she is survived by her grandson Duncan Johnson and his wife Jessica Brand of Weymouth. Grandson Gregory Johnson of Brighton. Grandsons Cornelius, David and Nicholas Driscoll, all of Amesbury. Grandson Daniel Moellering of Woburn and grandson Luke Moellering of Brentwood NH. Grandson Dylan Stigliano of Manhattan and Jake Stigliano of Manchester NH. Grandchildren Katherine, Connor and Elizabeth Driscoll of Boxborough. Granddaughters Eileen and Mary Ryan of Amesbury, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
