Passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities with her family at her side. Eleanor was born on March 3rd, in Saginaw the daughter of Walter and Margarite (Canter) Kendall. She was united in marriage to Albert Chinevere in Van nuys, CA on November 9, 1947. They had five children. Albert passed away on July 7, 1984. She remarried on June 13, 1987 to James McConnaughey; he passed away on December 8, 2012.
Eleanor was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she was known as the “beloved waitress” of Bill Knapps Restaurant; she retired in 1976. Eleanor was a great cook and baker. She had a huge heart and was loved by everyone who knew her. Her family meant the world to her. She was a great mom and will be dearly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her three children, David Chinevere, Dale (Linda) Chinevere and Linda (Kim) Grossman; three step-sons, Brian, Chuck and Kevin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Hugh) Watters; sister in-law, Jean Kendall; several dear nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husbands Albert and James; two sons, Dennis and Wayne; brother, Wallace Kendall; daughter in-law, Mary Ann Chinevere and a granddaughter, Amy Chinevere.
Eleanor’s family would like to thank the staff at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities for their loving care.
