Eleanor Mitchell Hayman

May 27, 1921 – May 5, 2016

Eleanor Hayman passed away peacefully on May 5, 2016 at the age of 94 in Caldwell, Idaho. Eleanor was born May 27, 1921 in Caldwell, Idaho, the daughter of Fred and Amy Mitchell.  She attended Caldwell public schools and graduated from the Collage of Idaho in 1944.  Following college, she lived and worked in Portland, OR.

She married her childhood sweetheart, John Hayman, on March 10, 1946, in Caldwell.  She was primarily a stay-at-home mom to their five children.

In 1974 the family moved to San Jose, California for one year and then moved to Encinitas, Ca and Coalinga, CA.  In Encinitas Eleanor took a position with Union Bank as a teller and upon moving to Coalinga she worked as a bookkeeper at West Hills Community College.  In 1985 Eleanor and John retired to Boise where they lived until 2001 moving to a cottage at the PEO Chapter House in Caldwell.  After John’s passing in 2003, Eleanor moved into the main house where she resided until January 2016.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and confidant.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband John Hayman.  She is survived by daughter Ann Hayman of Santa Monica, CA, son’s David of Santa Monica, John Phillip of Garden Valley, Jeff (Meg) of Hayward, CA and Andy (Laura) of Sonoma, CA, and seven grandchildren Holly, Colin, John, Lisa, Alexandra, Veronica, Madeline and a number of nieces and nephews.
