Eleanor Atienza Zoleta, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 8, 2020 surrounded by her family.
A longtime resident of Edison, NJ, Eleanor was born in Batangas, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1967. Before her retirement, Eleanor was a senior finance executive at American International Group (AIG) in New York City. She was proud of her long career and was a loyal and trusted employee for more than 35 years.
Eleanor loved to travel and had the privilege of visiting countless countries and destinations throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East, among others. She also had a passion for the stock market and was a shrewd investor, continuing to closely follow the market and make investments through her final days.
Eleanor is survived her devoted husband of 49 years, Edilberto, loving sisters Fely Atienza Cabanday and her husband Jovencio Cabanday, Eden Atienza Sambat and her husband Arturo Sambat, and Josephine Atienza Subido and her husband Arthur Subido, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Sisinando and Natividad, sister Lolita and brother Juanito.
Known affectionately by her family as “Ninang,” Eleanor was a proud family matriarch who provided guidance, love and support throughout her life. She is loved and will be greatly missed.
