He was employed by the LDS church educational system for 39 years. He had assignments in Blanding, Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah and in Southern California. He was a devoted teacher at Weber State Institute of Religion for 22 years, and most recently, wrote publications at the Church Office Building.

On August 23, 1957, he married Vivian Morin in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised six adoring children. His family was the light of his life, as he was theirs. An avid reader and a lover of both history and mystery, his insatiable appetite for books and storytelling amused his children and grandchildren with tales of magic, compassion, and love. There truly was no better place than Daddy’s/Papa’s lap.

His affinity for travel was deep, and he was blessed to able to wander the globe, all the while appreciating the scenery surrounding him. Family vacations to the Oregon Coast were his particular favorite; it is where he loved and longed to be.

Those close to Eldon were lucky enough to experience his playful sense of humor. Endless laughter filled the room when he was present.
