Elda Leota Foster, 96, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away with her family by her side, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
She was born in Iuka, Arkansas on October 8, 1921, daughter of the late Edward Ezekiel and Lucy Louvena (Rand) Marchant. Elda spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was united in marriage to the late Otress Foster on December 7, 1938 in Elizabeth, Arkansas and from this union four children were born. During her working years, Elda worked for Mar-Bax Shirt Factory and Baxter Lab. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Elizabeth. Elda loved her family and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, doing word searches and hiking. She loved to walk down to the lake with Otress and fish.
Elda is survived by her daughters, Barbara Dover of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Sue Newberry and husband Don of Viola, Arkansas and Kae Hatcher and husband Mel of Sparta, Missouri; son, Max Foster and wife Rose of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, Steve Dover, Lisa Kinney, Dawnesea Roper, Cris Newberry, Scott Lancaster, William Hatcher, Melissa Hermreck, Kimberly Foster, and Michael Foster; 16 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lena Marchant of Oregon; dedicated nurse, Stacy Robbins; Special friend and cousin, Joyce Yarnell; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otress Foster; parents, Edward and Lucy Marchant; granddaughter, Michelle Lancaster Johns; son-in-law, Robert Dover; sisters, Reable Haughn, Mildred Foster, Edna McCandlis, Ruby Mae Foster, Juanita Robbins and Imogene Wright and brothers, Heaber Marchant, Jesse Marchant, Willard Marchant and Lee Marchant.
