Elberta Kay Kinzler, 82, entered the arms of Jesus on November 3, 2021, having passed away at her home in Nampa. Kay arrived on the scene October 4, 1939 in Ottawa KS. Her parents, Edward T. and Mildred E. Jefferies were excited about their new baby girl.
Kay attended Ottawa public schools throughout her childhood and teenage years, graduating from Ottawa Senior High School in 1956. After graduating from high school Kay went on to earn her B.A. in elementary education at Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. She moved back to Kansas after receiving her degree where she taught second grade for two years in Overland Park Kansas. While there she was introduced to the love of her life, Bud Kinzler. After a year of dating Bud and Kay decided to tie the knot and were married July 19, 1963 and the bliss began!
After the wedding they moved from Kansas to Nampa, Idaho where Bud attended Northwest Nazarene College and Kay taught 2nd grade at Lakeview Elementary School. Kay and Bud were blessed with three children, Karyn, Kristyn and Chip. If you know Kay, her kids were her everything! Kay had a full life of memories raising the kids in the country south of Nampa. She enjoyed watching her kids in all of their activities from dance to all types of sports. As her granddaughters started arriving, a whole new level of love and gift giving began. Kay loved to “spoil” her grandkids.
In 2014 Chip built his parents a custom home that she dearly loved, sometimes saying “I don’t need to go to McCall when I have a beautiful house like this”. She loved to decorate for every holiday making their home warm and inviting.
Kay was always so proud of her family and attended all events with enthusiasm. With God’s help, Kay was always the “rock” to every situation. Kay is survived by her husband of 58 years Bud, son Chip (Beth), brother Larry Jeffries, granddaughters Jensyn Lown(22), Myla Lown(15), Sydney(12) & Kaitlyn Kinzler(11) and grandson Weston Lown(8), she also has many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Ron Jefferies, and daughters Kristyn Kinzler and Karyn Kinzler Lown.
