Elbert R. Janes, 75, Lapel went home to be reunited with his family on January 27, 2004 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness. He was born January 31, 1928 in Burkesville, Kentucky, and resided in Lapel, Indiana. He retired in 1982 from Guide Lamp after 30 years as a Plastics Operator.
He was a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ and the UAW Local #663. He was an avid gardener and hunter and loved doing both.
He is survived by his Wife of 56 years: Mary Murley Janes. Six Children: Carolyn Carter of Chesterfield. Judy & husband W.R. Ledbetter of Livingston, Tennessee. Peggy & husband Ronnie Vetor of Anderson. Brenda & husband Roy Baker of Pendleton. Terry Janes of Pendleton. Rita & husband Brian Brinker of Lapel. Grandchildren: Walter Carter and Tony Carter of Chesterfield.
