Elaine M. Szewc, age 84 of Grosse Ile, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Born March 12, 1938 in Detroit, Elaine was the daughter of Reuben and Edith (DeMeyer) Barnart. She married the love of her life, Dr. John Szewc Jr., on September 5, 1959. Sadly he preceded her in death June 12, 2021. A dedicated homemaker she also had been a Beautcian at one time. Elaine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as Questers of Grosse Ile. She was a supporter of her husband’s Barbershop group and enjoyed collecting antiques, but her most treasured times were those spent with family.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memory her children: Dawn (Joe) Carpenter, Susan (Warren) Johnson and Judith Brochue; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister Barbara and a brother Jim. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
