Elaine E. Cary, 81 of Dakota died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford. Born May 26, 1928, at Ridott she was the daughter of Clarence and Grace (Lameyer) Last. She and William Cary were married on May 1, 1954, he preceded her in death on Nov. of 1984. She worked for Amerock Corporation at Rockford for over 20 yrs. retiring in 1989. She was a member of the former St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rock Grove.
Surviving are 5 sons Ronald Pottratz of Dakota, Joseph (Kristine) Pottratz of Stevens Point, WI, Brandon Cary of Freeport, Stanton Cary of Dakota, Wesley (Randi Sue) Cary of Dakota; 3 stepdaughters Dona (Paul) Swift of Belvidere, Norma (Richard) Doty of Pecatonica, Linda (Richard) Howard of Pecatonica; 25 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Marie Naninga of Erie, Emilie (Russell) Good of North Branch, MN; 2 brothers Clarence “Jim” (Beverly) Last of Ridott, Marvin “Demps” Last of Rock City; 2 sisters-in-laws Sherrie Last of Freeport, Roberta Last of Herford, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Candice Diestelmeier, four brothers John, Robert, Frederick, and Carl Last, and two sisters-in-law Lowanda Last and Joyce Last.
