Elaine Baker, 75, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 18, 2012 in her home. She and her husband, Gordon L. Baker, shared over 54 years of marriage. Born in Johnstown, she was born to the late Joseph and Emily (Waehner) Campbell and adopted by the late Kenneth and Martha (Waehner) Smith. Elaine was a 1954 graduate of Liberty High School. She worked as a secretary for the Bethlehem Steel, both in Bethlehem and in Johnstown in the Purchasing Department. Elaine later worked as a secretary for the Calvary Baptist Church and the Lehigh Valley Christian High School. She was a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. Elaine was an active member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church in Bethlehem Township, where she was a member of the Ladies Ministry, the Prime Timers Committee and activities, Stitches of Love and was a leader of Bible Studies. Survivors: her loving husband, Gordon; daughter, Sharon Schantz and her husband Jeffrey of Bethlehem; sons, Gary Baker and his wife Dorothy of Eighty Four and Jeffrey Baker and his wife Melissa of Northampton; sister, Roxine Shields of Silver Spring, MD; brothers, Dr. Duane Smith of Mechanicsburg and Frank Campbell of Johnstown; 9 grandchildren, Brooke, Brianna, Luke, Daniel, David, Christopher, Travis, Jeffrey and Laura; 2 great-grandchildren, Adelaide and Jacob.
