Eileen R. Twomey Eileen Rathbun Twomey of Norwich, 92, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Harrington Court in Colchester. She was born on October 27, 1919 in Norwich, CT, the daughter of the late Ellen and Clarence Rathbun of West Main St, Norwich. Eileen graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1937 and worked as a teacher’s Aide and Librarian aide at Stanton School in Norwich for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother. She met her loving husband of 66 years, Gerald Twomey, in high school, saw him off as he fought in WWII, and waited for him to return. They married June 24, 1946 and raised a loving family.
