Eileen R. Hourigan, age 65, of Newnan, GA passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, June 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 25, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois, along with a twin sister. She was one of seven children of Eileen and the late Donald Sheehan. Eileen graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1972 and married Joseph Hourigan on December 12, 1980. Together they combined families and lived in various parts of Florida and Georgia before settling in Newnan in 1994. She was employed by Mike Fitzpatrick Ford for 19 years. Eileen enjoyed various hobbies through the years, including cooking, baking, cross stitch, and bringing plants back to life. She had a soft spot for birds and dogs and had many pets through the years. She became “Grandma Guy” on October 28, 1999 and enjoyed many other names given to her by her grandbabies, including “Grotti” and “Umma”. Above all, Eileen loved the Lord and spending time with her family. She was known to be a bit stubborn at times and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Sheehan, and Nephew David Wood. Eileen is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joey” Hourigan of Newnan; Mother, Eileen Sheehan of Braselton; daughter, Angela “Angie” Garay (husband Marcos) of Nashville, TN; son, Eric Conrad (wife Jenny) of Greenbay, WI; son, Glenn Smith (wife Donna) of Ocala, FL; son, Michael Hourigan (wife Shiena) of Manila Philippines; son Ryan Hourigan (wife Kathleen) of Newnan; and daughter Shasta Brock of Newnan; Fourteen Grandchildren: Brianna, Allura, and Marcos Garay; Tyler Rose, Avry LaViolette-Conrad, Kaiden and Erica Conrad; Sean, Christian, and Cameron Smith; William and Jonathan Hourigan; Honna lee and Caitlin Brock; as well as a host of other family members.
