Eileen Ann Wachter
On May 27, 2020, our dearest Eileen Ann (Dean) Wachter passed into the arms of Jesus after a brave two-year battle with Metastatic Pancreatic Neuroendocrine cancer. Eileen was born to Doris Mae (Decroo) Dean and Patrick Martin Dean on July 26, 1950, in Rock Springs, WY, the oldest of 5 children. She experienced her early childhood years in Superior WY and Powder Wash, CO before moving at age 6 to Vancouver, WA where she attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School as well as Providence Academy. Moving to Boise, ID in 1964, she graduated in 1968 from Bishop Kelly High School as the first graduating class to have attended all four years at the new high school. Eileen was an A student, cheer leader and school sports enthusiast.
Eileen met Leland Campbell her sophomore year and they married in the fall of 1968.
Eileen embarked on a career that lead her to 25 years at Hewlett Packard, working her way from her starting job in the clean room working with disk drives to working as a Project Manager. After retiring from HP, Eileen worked for Imperial Designs as an Executive Secretary where she became an integral part of the family, ultimately helping the owners through the sale of the business, sickness, working many free hours simply because she never turned down a friend in need.
Eileen loved all forms of fitness but especially loved to play tennis and was a member of the Boise Racquet and Swim Club.
Being a grandmother was one of Eileen’s greatest joys. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren whom she loved and celebrated; Daniel and Kalee Boots from her daughter Kari; Cassidy from Tom’s daughter Kymberle. and Jakob and Alyx from Tom’s son Roman.
Throughout her life, Eileen was involved in works of love from her immense heart. It was not uncommon for her to volunteer to take care of others, especially those in great need. No task was too big or small.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, St. Luke’s Cancer Institute in Boise and St. Luke’s Hospice for the compassionate care provided over the last two years.
