Efren L. Navasero entered into rest following a nine week struggle with congestive heart failure with complications. He was 78.
Born in Los Banos, Rep. of the Philippines. Graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of the Philippines and entered the U.S. Navy for six years. Married Patricia and had two children, Christine and Jeffrey, and soon divorced.
Efren resided in Oakland for many years and is survived by his wife, Sylvia Alvarado-Navasero and two sons, Anthony and Mario; grandchildren, Nicholas, Julia and Maya; sister, Amelia Ello. He was preceded in death by father, Leopoldo Navasero; mother, Felisa Navasero; brother, Mariano Navasero; sister, Gorgonia Bandian.
His interests were gambling, dancing, playing the guitar, dabbling in painting, enjoyed cooking and the Oakland Raiders. He was a past member and president of the Los Banos Association.
