Edythe Lynn (DeGirolamo) Bowers, 65, of Chandler, AZ passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, where she joined her recently deceased husband Chet, and twin sister Cindy.

Edythe was born in Alliance, Ohio on April 29, 1957 to Anthony and Dorothy DeGirolamo. She was the 3rd of 4 siblings, born 5 minutes earlier than her twin sister, Cindy.  She grew up in Alliance, Ohio, where she graduated in 1975 from Alliance High School. Edythe then went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University in 1979, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education K-8.  It was during her time at BGSU that she met the love of her life, Chet Bowers. It was love at first sight, and they married on August 18, 1979, welcoming their only child, Jenna, on April 1, 1990.

She loved her family more than anything. The perfect embodiment of all that you would imagine a mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend to be. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. The kindest soul, with the most compassionate heart and gentle spirit, who truly made the world a better place simply with her presence. Many will miss her, and her memory will live on through the love of all those whose lives she touched.

Her passion and dedication to her teaching profession was unrivaled. She was a true champion of her students, and enjoyed following and celebrating their achievements long after they had moved on from her classroom. After 38 years of teaching, she officially retired in May of 2020 from Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe, AZ. It didn’t take long for her to return to the classroom as a substitute, where she continued to make an impact on young students’ lives, right up until her untimely passing. She had a strong devotion to her Faith, and to our Heavenly Mother, Mary. Edythe was very active in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community, both as an educator, and a parishioner.

Edythe was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Dorothy DeGirolamo (Braidic), her twin sister Cynthia Gilligan (DeGirolamo), her husband Chester Bowers, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her daughter Jenna (Cory McClelland), brothers Michael (Pam) and Joseph DeGirolamo of Alliance, niece Gia, nephews Tony (Anne) and Ben, along with great nieces Lydia, Leah, and great nephew Mikey.
