Edwina Neadeau, “Mindimooyenh” which means “Old Lady”, age 81, of Red Lake, began her spiritual journey on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Red Lake. She was born on July 31, 1936 in Red Lake, the daughter of James Neadeau, Sr. and Katie (Sayers) Neadeau.

Edwina attended and graduated from Red Lake High School. Following graduation she joined the Army (Women’s Army Corps) where she was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. She was a medic for the Corps and attended Detroit Lakes Tech. for her LPN degree. Edwina worked for several years as a home health aide for Red Lake Comp. Health. She also was the secretary to Chairman Roger Jourdain, Senior judge for the Red Lake Nation’s Absentee Ballot, and taught crafts with her mom out of her basement. Edwina’s hobbies were sewing, making crafts, cooking, baking, going to the casino, playing bingo, and visiting with family and friends. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

The family that Edwina joins again are her significant other; Charles Johns, parents; James and Katie, Edward her twin, Delores Good, Geraldine Neadeau, Royce Sayers, Sr., James Neadeau, Jr., Francis Neadeau, Myron Neadeau, Sr., Douglas Neadeau, Gerald Neadeau, Lawrence Neadeau, infant brothers, great grandchildren; Mathew, Chance, JolieAna and Charissa.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are, Laurie Neadeau, Linda (Rolly) Lussier, Gary Neadeau, Ruth Neadeau, Patricia Neadeau, Mary Neadeau, and Kaela Neadeau, sisters; Allura May, Alivia Neadeau, and a brother; Leon Neadeau.
