Edwin Wayne Sampson, 82, Galesburg, died at 2:02 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010 at his home. He was born August 11, 1927 in Hermon, Illinois, the son of Wayne and Beulah Moore Sampson. Edwin is survived by a son, James Edwin Sampson, Sheridan Wyoming, two daughters, Christine Rose of Billings, Montana and Carol Sue Valadez of Rock Falls, sister, Eileen Sampson Nutt of New Windsor and a half sister, Rita Irene Taylor of Sheridan Wyoming, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two half sisters. Edwin attended school in London Mills. He lived in Galesburg for many years and worked at Gale products for over 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M. and served in the US Navy during World War II.
