Our kind and loving father, grandfather & friend Edwin Russell Rowe passed away on September 27, 2021 in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by his children, at the age of 78. He was born in Rexburg, Idaho on December 12, 1942 to Winifred Stevens and George Russell Rowe. He grew up with a love of family that he carried on throughout his life. He shared many of his life experiences from his youth with his family such as going to family reunions at the dry farm, picking berries, riding horses and his love of hard work, the outdoors and adventures.

He graduated from South Fremont High School in St Anthony, Idaho in 1961. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Radio Electronics Technician where he served for four years from 1961 – 1965. Upon returning home, he continued his education at Stevens Henager Business College graduating with high honors in Professional Accounting and Business Administration.

He married the love of his life, Judy Moon, on December 27, 1965 in Sugar City, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan temple on December 6, 1968. They had a beautiful 50 years together.

They started their life together in Salt Lake City where Ed began working at Litton Industries. They then moved to Ogden where he began his career of civil service at Hill Air Force Base. He worked there for 33 years in a variety of positions in the communications, maintenance and operation fields. He received many achievement awards during his time there.

Throughout his years in Ogden, he developed many life-long friends that held special places in his heart. Those friendships continued as he moved his family to Farr West where he built the home his family has lived in for over forty years. The move facilitated the addition of many more friends whom he enjoyed serving and appreciated the love and service rendered by them to him and his family.

He retired at an early age which allowed him to experience a variety of other jobs. Some of those jobs include Handi Trans bus driver, North American Salt Corporation and Data Monitor Systems. One of the jobs he loved most was at Valley View Golf Course where he could mow straight lines and golf for free.

Throughout his life he had a great talent of building projects out of wood. Many of those projects were gifts for his friends, children and grandchildren. During his semi-retirement, he took some time off to build the family cabin in Bear Lake with the help of his brother-in-law. This had been a dream of his for many years. His love of Bear Lake ran deep, and the family has enjoyed many summers of vacations together there.

Ed was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dad had a deep love and strong testimony of the gospel, which was shown more through action than word. He served in many callings and provided service wherever he was able. Some of his favorite callings were with his wife as service missionaries at Temple Square and his time as an Ordinance worker and assistant shift coordinator at the Ogden Temple.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, parents George and Winifred, sisters Bonnie (Neil) Zundel and Cheryl (Gary) Beckstead and a brother Dwight (Sherri) Rowe.

He is survived by his children Wendy (Barry) Bundy St. George, Sherry (Allen) Daley Farr West, Dan (Janette) Rowe Hyrum, Brandon (Mariko) Rowe Bountiful, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and sisters Lorraine (Ben) Pancratz, Brenda (Ron) Devenish, Barbara (Bill) Atchley, Karla (Jim) Tuberville and Pam (David) Cram and brother Neil Rowe.

The family would like to give special thanks to the McKay Dee Hospital IMC and ICU units for their wonderful and loving care of our father.
