Edwin D. Levan, 87 of Stockton died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born October 28, 1924, in Dixon he was the son of Arthur and Mabel (Becker) Levan.
He was a graduate of Dixon High School and was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He and Olivette Krebs were united in marriage on September 10, 1949, at Forest Park, IL. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Lena, Stockton VFW, and was part of the ELCA Mission Builders. Edwin also served on the board of directors for the Stockton Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife Olivette of Stockton, children Steve (Kathie) Levan of Stockton, Beverly (David) Shockey of Hebron, KY, Eileen (Greg) Lawfer of Stockton, Terry (Jane) Levan of Lexington, TX; 7 grandchildren Meghan, Drew, Ana, Erin, Kirsten, Heather, and Carrie; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers Leroy (Doris) Levan of Itasca, Ken Levan of South Beloit and Gordon (Kathy) Levan of Chicago.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sisters Ethel and Hazel. Cremation rites will be accorded.
