Edwin J. Goehring, born Aug. 18, 1917 in Minidoka County, Idaho to Jacob and Lydia (Schock) Goehring, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at a Meridian, ID, care center.
In 1918 the family moved to North Dakota. Edwin attended school in rural McIntosh County. He married Ida Mehlhaff on Nov. 26, 1939. They lived on a farm near Ashley, ND and later moved to the city of Ashley, ND where they resided until 1971.
In 1971, Edwin and Ida moved to Lodi, CA. Edwin worked for Goehring Estates for 21 years during the walnut harvesting season and also did various handyman jobs.
In 1994, Edwin and Ida moved to Boise, ID to enjoy retirement. Ida passed away in November of 2002.
Edwin was a very active man and had several hobbies but his favorite was repairing watches. He worked at his hobbies until he moved into an assisted living facility in Boise.
Survivors include his children; Floyd (Eileen) of Boise, Ronnie (Barbara) of Lodi, CA, Milo (Cary) of Las Vegas, NV, and Kenneth (Juanie) of Meridian, ID; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lydia Herr of Napoleon, ND.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, and two brothers.
