Edwin Hedwige Daniel was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on October 17, 1926 to Hyacinth Daniel and Lauracine Daniel. He graduated from St Mary’s College, Trindad and Tobago and immigrated to the United States. He married Roena (Philbert) Daniel, who passed away on September 11, 2012 after 54 years of marriage. A man of many talents, Edwin worked at the Federal Manpower Agency; served as a Professor and Career Counselor at Federal City College & the University of the District of Columbia. Edwin & Roena owned and operated a number of dry cleaning establishments in Washington DC. Edwin was extremely proud of his heritage and an active member of the Trindad & Tobago Club in DC. He wrote a number of profound poems that were published in the 1940s. In summary, Edwin was a visionary, poet, scholar, entrepreneur, husband, father, and grandfather– who will be greatly missed. 246 N Washington St.
