Ed was born on April 8, 1930 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Clarence and Alice (Nichols) Eaton. He graduated from high school there, then the family moved to Denver, Colorado. He attended Denver University before enlisting in the U.S. Coastguard where he served 3 years. While stationed in Aberdeen, Washington he met the love of his life, Ella Mae Marquart, best known as Micki. Micki was born near Howard, South Dakota on May 4, 1932 to Harvey and Mabel (Oliver) Marquart.

Ed pursued many hobbies, but his favorite was collecting old cars. He and Bill shared this love of cars and enjoyed participating with the Old Car Club in Roswell, showing several of their favorites in parades and car shows. During this time Micki enjoyed collecting antique dishes and glassware and attending the car shows. She also did embroidery work and crocheted many afghans. Ed had played cornet in his high school band and renewed his love of band music by playing for several years with the Roswell Community Band. Ed was a gentle, kind, generous, and good-natured man with a warm and humorous spirit. Micki shared that love of humor, especially with her close family, and she and her sisters used to love to laugh together. The Eatons also provided a loving home to nearly a dozen dogs over the years, making them a cherished part of their family. Ed and Micki were blessed with a marriage of over 67 years.

Micki was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill, Don and Bernard, and four sisters, Delores Endres, Darlene Kruger, June Breiner and Gladys “Gusi” Coil, in addition to her beloved son, Bill. Micki is survived by her sister, Alice Wood of Roswell NM, and a brother, David Marquart, of Garretson SD, and several other family members.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marlyne Morgan, and his beloved son, Bill. He is survived by his sister, Pat Turner (Ron), and several other family members.

Ed and Micki were blessed with wonderful care over the past few years by family and friends. This allowed them to continue enjoying their home in Roswell.
