Edwin Earl Slipher Flagstaff native and one of the truly good guys, Edwin Earl Slipher passed away on November 7, 2014 after a several year bout with cancer. He was born July 26, 1952 in Winslow, AZ and spent his final hours surrounded by the love of family and numerous friends.

Ed was one of the most affable and considerate people that any of us have ever been blessed to know and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Ed’s love for science and all things technical destined him for a career in engineering after receiving his EE degree at ASU. His semiconductor industry career spanned 35+ years with Motorola, National Semi and QP Semi, now eve. He retired as one of the world’s most well-respected experts on High Rel semiconductor processing.

Ed’s life was one of constantly extending a helping hand to others. He had a special heart for those who had little in the way of a safety net. He was always looking for ways to help friends and family. The list of those he touched is long and spans the globe. He was always surprising someone with everything from a perfectly-timed phone call, some sacks of groceries, or even a donated car. He also loved flying his Cessna but was not able to get much stick time the last few years.

He is survived by his loving parents Earl and Gloria Slipher of Flagstaff, AZ, his brother Les and sister-in-law Terri of Cottonwood, AZ, his daughter Jessica Wilson and her husband Kiel of Prarieville, LA and his nephews, Christopher Slipher and wife Nallely of Everett, WA, Mark Slipher and wife Evelyn of Cottonwood and Stephen Slipher and wife Nikki of Portland, OR and his loyal companion, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. E.C. Slipher and Elizabeth Tidwell Slipher and Edwin H. Olsen and Mattie Lynch Olsen.
