Edwin Carl Lipscomb, age 98, of Middleville Rd., Taylor County, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg. He was born January 5, 1916, in Morgansville, Doddridge County, WV, a son of the late Lewis Lipscomb and Sarah Alice (Moore) Lipscomb. His wife of 67 years, Juanita Grace (Wolfe) Lipscomb, survives. They were united in marriage September 1, 1946.
Mr. Lipscomb was a 1934 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Army Air Corp. He was in Normandy on D-Day and earned a European-African and Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with 1 Silver Star, 1 Bronze Battle Star, a Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and a Distinguished Unit Badge.
