On Monday, November 15, 2021, Edwin C. Kennedy, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 95.  

Edwin was born on April 24, 1926 in Maple City, Kansas. He honorably served in the US Navy aboard the USS Wildcat in World War II. Upon his return, he met Mary Moran, who had just immigrated from Ireland. They were married on October 7, 1950. They raised two sons, Charles and Steven, and daughter, Jean.  

Edwin was known for his incredible work ethic. He worked as a carpenter for the Chicago Transit Authority for 30 years. After retiring, he started his own construction company that he successfully managed for over three decades, working manual labor himself until he finally retired at 87. Edwin spent his retirement cutting wood and taking long naps on the porch at his farm in Southwest Indiana.

Edwin was preceded in death by his wife Mary. He is survived by his son Charles (Patricia), daughter Jean (Richard), and son Stephen, his grandchildren Michele (Joseph), Brian (Corrine), Kevin (Shannon), Kristen (Anthony), Siobhan (Will), and Sean (Josie), his great-grandchildren Brendan, Conor, Delia, Aubrey, Kennedy, and Jaxon.
