TSgt Edwin R. Clark USAF Ret., age 72, of Edgewater, Florida went home with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on December 14, 2008 next to his wife of 53 years. Born October 14, 1936 in Falkville, Alabama to the late Eva Idella (Holmes) and Virgil Whitten Clark, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 31, 1954 followed by training at Camp Lejune in Parris Island, South Carolina. He went to school to be a sheet metal repairman with a specialization in aircraft repair at the Mellington Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis, Tennessee. During his training he courted and then married the love of his life, Reba Ann (Hicks) of Decatur, Alabama on December 21, 1955. Following his training he was stationed in Miami, Florida for a little over a year and received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in March 1958. Shortly after his discharge he enlisted in the United States Air Force on April 16, 1958; duty stations included Albany, Georgia, Germany, England, Washington state, the 37th Field Maintenance Squadron in Vietnam, and Texas. He then retired while stationed at Pease Air Force base in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1976.

Following his retirement he and his wife moved to Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Reba Ann Clark; brother John David Clark of Freeport, Florida; sisters Francine Hayes of Holly Pond, Alabama and Leola and husband Robert Alfred Davenport of LaVergne, Tennessee. He is also survived by his two daughters; Charlotte Ann and husband Lance Thornton of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Debbie Kay Clark and spouse Wayne Moore of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Evan Michael Thornton of Charleston, South Carolina and Eric Cole Thornton of Simpsonville, South Carolina and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like extend a special thanks to the caring staff of both Dr. Ailani and Dr. Hole as well as the staff of the 3rd and 4th floor at Bert Fish Hospital.
