Edwin A. “Ed” Hoar, 88, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on April 8, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Jervis, New York on August 2, 1924 to Frank and Mary Hoar. He was the oldest of 6 siblings. Ed was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp 330th Bomb Group Veteran who was stationed in Guam and participated in numerous missions. At a USO dance, he met and later married Vesta Jean Jones on June 26, 1946. After the war, they moved to Hill City, Kansas where he and Vesta owned and operated the E & J Dairy, Mr. Ed’s Motors, and they were house parents for adults with disabilities for DSNWK. Upon retiring in 1989, they moved to Canon City, Colorado. While in Canon City, he was an active member in St.
