Edwena J. Robertson 1920 – 2010 Edwena J. Robertson of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away Thursday afternoon, March 18, 2010 at the Haven of Our Lady of Peace in Pensacola, FL after a long illness with Alzheimer’s. Born in Calvary, GA to the late George Edward Langley and Mattie Herring Langley, she was oldest of three children. She spent most of her life in Georgia and Florida. She graduated from Cairo High School and the University of Georgia with a degree in home economics. She married Robert Ardell Bell who was later killed in World War II. In April 1946, she remarried Elias Richard “Dick” Robertson, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 63rd anniversary. She taught school for eight years prior to moving with her family to Quincy, FL where she served as the Assistant Home Extension Agent for seven years. The family then moved to Pensacola, FL where she served as Head Home Extension Agent for Escambia County for 29 years, retiring Dec. 22, 1990 at age 70.
